Vilma found her passion 25 years ago as a teenage volunteer at a local nursing home where she grew up in Chico, CA. She always had a special connection with the elderly. Her first experience taught her how one person can brighten up someone's day, which gave her great satisfaction and led her to where she is today, the proud owner of Gems Assisted Living.

Vilma has over 20 years experience being a Caregiver, 2 years as a Director of a Dementia/Alzheimer's Unit and sat on the board for Dementia Connection of Havasu for 13 years. Vilma is involved in many aspects of our beautiful city including, Hav-a-Sis, Havasu Community Health Foundation and organizations supporting our veterans and homeless population.

Vilma's dream of owning her own Assisted Living became a reality on March 15, 2013, celebrating this huge accomplishment with a Ribbon Cutting surrounded by family and friends.

Since opening Vilma feels truly blessed being able to care for not only the residents under her care, but the friendships that have formed with the residents, families and team members.

Vilma designed the Assisted Livings to reflect fond memories of a cozy family home.

Gems Assisted Living stands true to its mission statement.
